Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division's ultrasound team consists of four board-certified, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and three registered nurses, who are also registered diagnostic medical sonographers.
Our ultrasound machines have high-resolution abdominal and vaginal probes, as well as pulse Doppler and color flow Doppler. We are also pleased to announce that we have recently added 3D/4D ultrasound, which is available at our Shands Medical Plaza office.
Targeted ultrasound evaluation of fetal anatomy and physiology are performed as well as specialized procedures such as percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS), chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, color flow Doppler, fetal cardiac evaluation, and intrauterine transfusion (IUT). The physicians in our division provide care at both the Women's Health Group at Magnolia Parke and the Women's Health Group at the Shands Medical Plaza. Through our contract with Children's Medical Services, we provide on-site high-risk pregnancy consultation including detailed ultrasound and genetic counseling at the health departments in Marion, Lake, and Citrus counties. We also provide dating and growth ultrasound examinations at several other health department clinics in the area.
