Clinical Studies at Magnolia Parke
In Progress:
A Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study Assessing the Safety and Efficacy of DVS SR (Desvenlafaxine succinate - sustained release)for the Treatment of Vasomotor Symptoms Associated With Menopause.
Healthy menopausal women between ages 40 -62 are currently enrolled in this study. Enrollment is closed. Health assessments that include ECG and Blood pressure monitoring, Blood Chemistry and Lipid profile assessments, physical exam and symptom assessments are done on a quarterly basis. In addition to these assessments, eligible subjects receive compensation for their time and travel expenses.
Currently Enrolling:
Maternal circulatory adaptations in pregnancies conceived by assisted reproductive technologies (ART): A methods pilot study.
This study is enrolling two groups of women who are undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures to achieve pregnancy. The first group is for women age 35 or younger using standard IVF procedures. The second group includes those women who are seeking IVF with donor eggs, and are age 50 or younger. This study will evaluate whether there may be an increase or decrease in a certain hormone that helps the functioning of a woman's heart, blood vessels, and kidneys. The purpose of the research is to study how a woman's heart, blood vessels and kidneys work before, during and after pregnancy and to determine the amount of this hormone in the body. Compensation will be provided after each assessment.
Upcoming Studies:
A Double-Blind, randomized, Placebo- And Active-Controlled Efficacy and Safety Study of the Effects of Bazedoxifene/conjugated Estrogens Combinational of Endometrial Hyperplasia and Prevention of Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women.
We will be enrolling women who are postmenopausal and not currently on medication for treatment of menopausal symptoms. The women should be healthy and between the ages of 40 - 62, with an intact uterus. Please contact the Research coordinator, K. Bishop at (352) 265-6200 or email bishopkr@ufl.edu for additional information.
