Obstetrical Satellite Program
The University of Florida Department of Obstetrics, in partnership with Children's Medical Services, provides comprehensive care to women with high-risk pregnancies in three designated health departments in Florida: Marion County Health Department in Ocala, Citrus County Health Department in Lecanto, and Lake County Health Department in Umatilla. These patients are referred to the high-risk team for genetic counseling, chromosome testing, comprehensive ultrasound, prepregnancy counseling and consultation for high-risk medical conditions. Local private physicians refer patients to these satellite clinics to provide specialized care they would otherwise have to travel to medical centers to obtain.
